Distinctive Leadership: CEOs and Managers of the World Breathe a Sigh of Relief on Steve Jobs' Resignation

As Steve Jobs' resignation is not just a leadership issue, but also an innovation and value creation issue, I repost my distinctive leadership post here:

"CEOs and managers may respire. Their hardship is finally over. After Steve's resignation nobody - they hope - will compare them to Steve again.

They all hated to be compared to a phenomenon. They all hated to be confronted with expectations only a Steve Jobs could live up to.

And they had a great excuse: he was the only one, there was no other coming near to his achievements. Yes, he was a phenomenon, and they themselves were great managers. They could live with that.

I must disenthrall them all, it's even worse: they all could become a Steve Jobs, they all could innovate, they all could transcend markets, they all could build Informal Markets (as I call them), they all could introduce revolutionary business models, and realize them successfully. No excuses apply.

All CEOs and managers could outgrow themselves and inspire the world. They just need to dare to, they just need to be self-confident and self-conscious enough.
They just need to live Distinctive Leadership:

"I would like us to take ourselves and others seriously - but not all-too important. Would like us to stop making sense, ie. to courageously perfect our talents and personal vision - as individual, brand or corporation.

I would like us to value brilliance over instant gratification. Would like us not to look for distractions, but to find solutions. Would like us to stop surfing every fad we stumble upon.

I would like us to long for more knowledge than we need to - it's the only way to create innovation. Would like us to pose the right questions instead of knowing all the answers.

Would like us to mutually understand each other in simple words.

I would like us to make a difference finally: become independent, brilliant and relevant, outgrow ourselves, coin Monopolistic Moments and create value(s).

I would like us to become mirror, role model and inspiration for others - as individual, brand or corporation.

I would like us to live Distinctive Leadership, and thereby become truly and sustainably successful - for the good, benefit and wealth of our surroundings and ourselves."
